A tale as old as time. Recent transplant to Brooklyn by way of Nashville, Austin Fredrich, known as redmesa, aims to combine his love for technical instrumental music with contemporary indie and pop. Think if Polyphia did a collab with Post Malone. Or if Chon and James Blake had a child and named it Austin.
What makes redmesa stand out among his peers is the fact that he has little to no fans. Grammy Award winning bassist and producer Jorge Casas once said of redmesa , “I think there needs to be another vocalist. It would be nice to hear a different singer.” Meanwhile A&R Consultant Eric McLellan said “I’m looking for something more memorable.” This love and support pushes redmesa to continue to create music.
A songwriter and musician for the last decade, redmesa has previously played music festivals featuring Switchfoot and even played within earshot of J. Cole. All this experience and 2021 is just the start . New single. New EP. And a whole damn music video. redmesa is looking forward to 2022 and playing perhaps a show without a worldwide pandemic. Who knows?
