Chicago Solo Act Takes On Societal Expectations in Evocative New Visual

Chicago-based artist Clearhead is excited to unveil the music video for his new single “Desk Job,” set for release on September 1, 2023. Filmed by director Wes Langdon and cinematographer Chris Haggerty, the video shows Clearhead humorously acting out the monotonous office job satirized in the lyrics.

On “Desk Job,” Clearhead’s driving guitars and melodic vocals deliver a catchy alt-rock anthem exploring the tension between societal expectations and personal hopes and ambitions. The solo act started the song to comment on the compromises many make to accept “the game we all play” in career and life.

Clearhead is the alt-rock solo project of Chicago-based singer-songwriter Max Gensler. With driving guitar hooks, pop-inspired melodies, and relatable lyrics, Clearhead fuses clever songwriting with an everyman charm. Following in the footsteps of bands like Spoon, Wilco, and Beck, Max provides the perfect soundtrack for dancing out life’s absurdities.
