REDMESA TRADES POP POLISH FOR RAW ROCK ENERGY ON NEW SINGLE "TAKE IT"
Alt-Rock Artist Goes Solo on Production to Move Faster and Sound More Like Himself
BROOKLYN, NY – June 5, 2026
redmesa, the Carbonated Records alt-rock artist, today released “Take It,” a new single that marks a deliberate shift toward a heavier, guitar-driven sound and a new way of working: this time, entirely on his own.
The track was born out of frustration with the pace of collaboration. Rather than wait on other writers and producers to lock in their parts, redmesa set out to finish something himself, fast, and let it speak for who he is as an artist right now.
That meant stepping outside his comfort zone. As a guitarist and vocalist first, production has never been his strongest skill, but “Take It” pushed him to build and engineer the track on his own, drums included.
“I needed to move faster and represent my sound a little more,” redmesa explains. “I was stuck waiting for friends and collaborators to figure out their parts, and I wanted to put something out that was just me, as fast as possible.”
“This was an opportunity to push myself into producing, and I was really happy with the output,” he adds. “It’s a shift toward being very guitar-focused, more of a rock vibe than the pop vibe I had before — and I think that’s a nice change.”
The result is redmesa’s most guitar-forward release to date, favoring rock instincts over the pop sensibility of his earlier work.
